Ms Jonell Tan

RAD Ballet, Contemporary, Acro Lyrical

Ms Jonell studied the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabi and completed the Grade 8 and Advanced Two examinations. Other than Classical Ballet, she is trained in Contemporary and Lyrical, with experience in Jazz, Hip Hop, Street Jazz and Waacking. She also trained with dancers in Annette Roselli Dance Academy in Australia for exchanges, experiencing the full-time programmes offered in the academy.

Ms Jonell started dance teaching in 2017, focusing mainly on Classical Ballet, subsequently moving on to Contemporary and Lyrical. She enjoys incorporating tricks and stunts into modern genres, as she was trained in gymnastics in her earlier years. Following her passion for gymnastics and acro tricks, Ms Jonell is currently also pursuing cheerleading.

In her years of competing, Ms Jonell had been awarded the Best Performer in Singapore Challenge Cup for the Modern Dance category, with Gold awards for both Classical and Contemporary. She also placed First in Get the Beat for the Commercial Contemporary category, with Gold, Silver and Bronze placings across other competitions including Asia Dance Arts Festival, Hong Kong Challenge Cup Dance Competition and Youth Arts Festival. Ms Jonell also has various performance experience, including Chingay, Singapore Youth Festival Showcase and multiple concerts and recitals.

Ms Jonell has always been passionate about dance and aspires to pass it on to the next generation of dancers. She believes that as long as a dancer is willing to work hard, they will be able to improve and eventually reach their goals.
